Seramis is a highly porous substrate used either in mixtures or on its own for growing various types of carnivorous plants. It is a clay mined in Germany and baked at high temperatures to achieve great porosity and lightweight granules. Due to their porosity, these granules maintain optimal moisture levels for the plants and allow any type of fertilizer—whether water-soluble, liquid, or granular—to permeate the entire volume of the pot.
Some examples of mix:
-Pure or mixed with other mineral components (such as pumice/tufo/vermiculite) for growing Pinguicula
-Pure or mixed with other components for growing Drosera picciolata in terrariums
-70% quartz sand/10% seramis/10% coconut fiber and 10% peat and classic perlite mixture, for growing Drosera magnifica in terrariums
-Mixed with zeolite, quartz sand, lapilli, peat and perlite for the cultivation of Cephalotus follicularis and Drosophyllum lusitanicu
